Make Sewing Great Again!

Overview

Join Jeanette Spornitz from Grand Prairie, AB as she teaches two one-day classes to make sewing more fun and less time-consuming. You have a choice to take either day One or Day two, or both! You can even take day Two alone if you can get away for only one day.

Class Number One:

Learn to sew without pins, including straight seams, curved seams, and zippers. learn to sew both a lapped zipper and a centered zipper without pins!
You will be learning to sew, press and turn corners that keep their points. Re-discover your iron and learn how to use it for perfect points and professional finishing results. Find out how to prep your sewing pattern and fabric to save time while you are at the machine. Learn construction techniques and workflows that save you time and aggravation.  She will also show you some speedy un-sewing techniques and introduce you to a few tools that will save you time and help you along the way.

Class Number Two:

The great tips will continue with professional finishing techniques for two types of waistbands.  Of course, no lesson is complete without buttonholes, so you will learn to mark and make amazing regular and bound buttonholes.  From there you will take on the flat-felled and French seams and lastly, learn ways to hem straight and curved hems in a professional looking manner, as well a quick and easy way to sew up the Euro or Original Hem for jeans.

Please note – this is the only time in 2019 that Jeanette will be offering this class here in the east, so don’t delay. Sign up today! pair this class with the Jeans class to make this a sew-cation week!

Each class is $60.00 CAD

Save $20.00 if you take both classes.

Please note:

• Class begins at 1:00 pm and ends at 4:00 pm.
• If you want to bring a lunch or snack we have a fridge and microwave in our classroom. We regret that our washroom facilities are in the basement so we cannot accept students with mobility issues at this time.

Testimonials

I am absolutely thrilled with my experience at Bra-Makers Supply. I took the 2 day Beginner Bra 101 with Beverley and Denise. While Beverley did my fitting and altered my pattern (which resulted in a perfect fit), Denise patiently walked all of us through each step of construction. Her instructions were detailed and offered extra bits of information not found in the pattern booklet. Any anomaly in my bra was due to not following instructions as closely as I had been directed. And now I know how to do better next time. I have a fair amount of experience with sewing and building various types of garments, and am happy to be adding a new skill set to my repertoire. I haven’t been this excited about something for quite some time!! One step closer to being able to build my entire wardrobe! Thanks so much Denise and Beverley.

Was in the November beginner bra class, and made a great bra – finally, a bra that fits! Great class, lots of support for the search for the holy grail, that is a great bra – and lots of inspiration for more creative versions. Can’t wait to do another class…… Highly recommend it for all who aspire to a custom foundation garment – yay Bev and team!
