Overview

Bralette-Making Class (1 day)

A bralette is the latest thing in casual living, loungewear and sleepwear, with good reason. The non-wired and unstructured bra is comfortable and easy to sew. Learn the techniques at our Bralette-Making Class.

There are several variations available including a longline, all lace, combination fabric and lace, even a winter version! All are easy to make. This is a course suitable to beginner bra-makers as the bralette is easier to sew than a regular bra. Pattern is included.

What you get in the class

Included in the class is the Sweet Sixteen Bralette pattern. You can purchase all the supplies to make your bralette here in the store. We recommend using duoplex as the base with lace over top for a first bralette. A bralette has no wires in its construction.

Skill Level

This is one class where you do not have to know how to sew a bra to get the most out of the class. Even beginner sewists can make a bralette. However it is still a rewarding project for the more advance sewist as you can experiment with foam, or lace to make the bralette more challenging.

Lesson Plan

Morning

In the morning, you are going to be fitted into our versatile bralette pattern. We take 3 body measurements to determine your size. Trace our your pattern and you are ready to pick your fabric, or lace, or foam and fabric, or foam and lace. You may want a long line or a midriff version. it doesn’t matter – there are 16 variations to choose from. The hardest part will be deciding among them! You will cut out the fabrics and get ready to sew the bralette. it is easy sewing too so you are going to have a relaxing day!

Afternoon

After lunch, the sewing is a nice easy pace so you will have time to get to know your other table mates. But you will still be sewing – first the cups, then the frame, and then of course, the cups into the frame. You will then put fold over elastics on the top and bottom edges, as well as the neckline to finish them off neatly and cleanly. Add the straps and the hook and eye and your lovely new bralette is complete. No wires, no hassle and lots of fun!
