Lightweight Flat Spring Steel Boning

Our Lightweight Flat Spring Steel Boning is ¼” (6 mm) wide and is plastic coated and tipped. This lightweight boning offers the ultimate support in strapless swimwear, long line bras, bustiers or any garment where a bra foundation is used as the interior support. The tips have been rounded and coated for longer life and better comfort. They can be cut and filed if you need shorter lengths. Sold by the pair. The boning is available in 19 lengths, from 6″ (15 cm) long to 15″ (38 cm) long, in convenient half inch increments.

This flat boning is also called “spring steel” because of its ability to spring back. This is a lightweight boning. If you require a heavier bone, please use the Heavyweight Steel boning.

Uses:

The Lightweight Flat Spring Steel Boning is perfect for any garment that requires better support than with plastic boning. Garments such as strapless swimwear, long line bras, bustiers or any garment that uses an interior bra foundation can all use this boning. We have used this boning in costume bras where malleable support in the cups was needed. We simply made channels for the spring steel boning and inserted the cut to length pieces inside. Then, we were easily able to curve the bones to the necessary shape.

This boning is not recommended for corsets or waist cinchers, please see our Heavy Spring Steel Boning and our Spiral Boning. Customers use this boning for garments such as bustiers, where light support is needed.
