Misty Fuse Fusible Web
Keeping laces in place while sewing them to another layer, often requires more than pins too keep everything in place. Misty Fuse is the lightest weight Fusible Web we have found. This Fusible Web is the ideal solution for holding laces (or any other fabrics, for that matter) in place, without a heavy, stiff fabric as a result. The very sheer mesh of the Misty Fuse allows the lace to keep its sheerness. Whether you are looking to hold lace to a support fabric, or to sheer cup lining, Misty Fuse will do the job. As with any fusibles, we recommend a non-stick pressing sheet (see the Notions section) to protect the pressing surface. Misty Fuse is available in White (Clear) only.
Misty Fuse is 18 inches (45 cm) wide.
How to Use:
Misty Fuse is very simple to use and will solve the problem of those delicate laces shifting around! With just a quick press with your iron, your laces will be firmly in place, no more shifting! Once the fusing melts, it becomes virtually invisible. This is why it is the ideal choice to use between laces and even some sheer fabrics. Remember, many delicate fabrics and laces can be very sensitive to heat. Always use a low heat setting on your iron, testing the heat on a small piece of your fabric. Many laces can easily melt or burn if the iron is too hot. However, the iron does need to be hot enough to melt the fusing. Always test on a small piece or scrap beforehand!
We recommend using a non-stick pressing sheet underneath, to protect your ironing board or pressing surface from the glue.
Simply cut the Misty Fuse to the shape of the objects you wish to fuse together. With a press cloth on top of your cut pieces, press lightly, then check to see if the fusing has taken hold. If the iron is too cold, simply increase the temperature in small increments until you find the right temperature to melt the fusing, without melting your material.
