If you’ve been looking for the perfect zipper for your sports bra, or other front closing bodice garment, look no further. Our Locking Zippers are now available in four colours to match our 1.5 inch waistband elastic, so they are the perfect addition to the Kerri Sports Bra, the Alison Sports Bra or the Ingrid Bra. We’ve even made the Sweet Sixteen Bralette using a Locking Zipper!
We’ve had the zipper made for us by YKK, the world leader in zipper manufacturing. Most stores carry a separating zipper but never in a length suitable for short bodice hugging garments, such as front closing bras. Our Locking Zipper is an incredible 10″ long (25 cm); long enough for any of our front closing patterns, yet short enough to be managed easily at your sewing machine. The zipper has a unique locking slider which has the ability to snap and lock into any position along its length. That’s great if you need a bit of air in that area, but do not wish to remove the bra.
What’s more – our separating zippers each come packaged to include two top zipper stops. If you need to cut the length of the zipper to fit your garment, cut it off from the top and apply the zipper top stops using a pair of needle-nose pliers. We include the stops with your purchase of any of our locking zippers. As sewists, we know the frustration of cutting a zipper tape and having the slider come off the cut end! No more!
